Geographical position
The village of Poltavka is located on the banks of the Yanchur River (mainly on the left bank), the village of Malinovka is located upstream at a distance of 1 km, the village of Novonikolaevka is located downstream at a distance of 3 km, and the village of Okhotnichye is on the opposite bank. Several drying streams with dams flow through the village.
History
- The village was founded in 1806 by immigrants from the village of Stary Sanzhary of the Poltava province under the name Sanzharovka .
- In 1946 it was renamed the village of Poltavka .
- At the fronts of World War II, 400 villagers fought, 218 of them were killed, 79 were awarded orders and medals of the USSR for military valor.

- In the village there is a mass grave of Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Poltava. A monument was erected in honor of the soldiers [3] .
