Mesoxaea rufescens (lat.) - a species of Hymenoptera insects from the family of andrenides ( Andrenidae ). Distributed in the southwestern USA ( Arizona ) and northwestern Mexico ( Nayarit , Sinaloa , Sonora ) [1] . Males collect nectar from the flowers of Acacia angustissima , Mimosa polyantha , Kallstroemia grandiflora , Croton culiacanensis , Turnera diffusa , Buddleja sessiliflora ; females collect nectar from Croton culiacanensis , Turners diffusa , Buddieja sessiliflora , Verbesina encelioides , and pollen from Mimosa polyantha , Solatium [1] . The body length of males is 15-19 mm, the length of the front wing is 13-15 mm. The body length of females is 16–20 mm, the length of the front wing is 14–15 mm [1] .
