Chernov Ivan Ivanovich - (born August 26 (September 7), 1872 in Penza - died July 5, 1952 in Simferopol, Crimea) Russian composer , teacher , author of textbooks on harmony and music theory , in his student years - conductor of the orchestra of the Court Singing Chapel [1] . Biography
Born on August 26 (September 7), 1872 in Penza. He studied at the Court Singing Chapel .
Director and teacher of the Voronezh College of Music named after Rostropovich (1918-1922) and the Simferopol College of Music named after P.I. Tchaikovsky .
The author of a number of romances, as well as ballets , operas and symphonic works , including on Crimean Tatar themes.
Among the students of I. I. Chernov there are a number of prominent Soviet, Russian and Ukrainian musicians, including baritone singer V. A. Bunchikov and composers I. T. Bakshishev [2] , A. S. Karamanov , A. K. Lebedev , M.I. Chulaki and others.
He died in Simferopol in 1952 .
The eldest son of I.I. Chernov, Valentin Ivanovich Chernov, is also a well-known Soviet conductor, teacher. His grandson Oleg Valentinovich Chernov (b. 1954) - film director [3] .
