Career
Miara became a professional and got into the main tour in 1997 after he won the national amateur championship in 1996. However, Joe showed no significant results in the professional arena and dropped out of the tour following the 2003/04 season . Then Miara played a challenge for a while, and in 2011 he returned to the main tour due to the fact that he completed the previous season with the rank of the first number in the Northern Irish rating. It is noteworthy that even before leaving the main tour in 2004, Miara, along with his performances there, still participated in many amateur competitions: in 2002 he became the double champion of Northern Ireland, the finalist of the championship of “the whole” Ireland and the IBSF World Championship semifinalist, and in 2003 reached the quarterfinals of the European Championship .
