Brunner - Turton theme in chess composition , a variation of the theme of liberating the line : a long-range piece passes through the critical field, freeing the line of the same type of figure (Rook — Rook, as well as Rook — Queen or Elephant — Queen, if the latter’s strength is used only along this line), which having occupied a critical field, it moves in the direction opposite to the movement of the 1st figure, using its support. Proposed by E. Brunner ( 1910 ).
