Career
In 2006, Cao Yupeng took 3rd place in the China Pro Tour. In 2008, he won the Chinese U-21 Championship. In 2009 and 2011, as an amateur, he received a wild card for a performance in the China Open , but both times conceded in the first match. In addition, in 2011 he participated in the Hainan Classic and Wuxi Classic . Cao became a professional and got into the main tour thanks to his victory at the junior Asian Championships in 2011 (in the final of this tournament he beat Iranian Hussein Vafayi with a score of 7: 3).
The highest achievement can be considered a performance on the Scottish Open 2017, where Cao Yupeng lost in the final to Neil Robertson with a score of 9: 8. It is noteworthy that Cao led the game with a score of 4: 8, but then lost 5 frames in a row. The decisive black ball in frame 16, which Cao was unable to realize and guarantee his first career title, became crucial.
