Bolgarchay (obsolete. Bulgaru-chai [1] ) is a river in the southern part of Mugan steppe of Azerbaijan . It originates in the Talysh mountains [2] and flows into the swampy tract of Mahmudchal .

The length of the river is 134 km, the basin area is 2170 km². River waters are used for irrigation [2] .
On the Bulgarian in the upper and middle reaches the border between Azerbaijan and Iran [2] .
