The BMK-460 is a tugboat designed to drive the PPS-84 pontoon ferries in the water with the equipment and maintenance of the crossings.
Technical Description
Main features of the boat
The boat is equipped with a powerful mechanical installation, two propellers in the nozzles, a reliable and high-speed coupling device, has the necessary traction and speed characteristics and provides driving by pushing both fleet and shuttle fleets of the park on water barriers with very fast current and swell. The boat is equipped with a radio station , intercom, night vision device and a compass, providing the ability to drive ferries on water barriers at any time of the day. The boat has a system to protect the crew from the effects of toxic and radioactive substances, as well as from biological (bacterial) means.
Mechanical installation - two-shaft, with two diesel engines, with the transfer of power from diesel engines to the propeller shafts through a reverse-reducer. Diesel index - 3D20sr3
Boat Composition
The boat is a twin-screw pusher tug , transported by land on the platform of a cutter car based on the KrAZ-260G chassis . The main parts of the boat are:
- housing with removable wheelhouse and engine room hood, breakdown shields and the following devices: railroad, mast, transport, hydrodynamic nose, for returning and selecting lower anchors and drainage;
- mechanical installation, consisting of two power units (diesel engines) and systems serving them;
- shafting and propulsion complex consisting of two propellers in nozzles and rudders;
- ship devices: mooring bow, steering, anchor, towing and mooring devices, as well as systems: drainage and technical needs, protecting the crew from the effects of toxic and radioactive substances, as well as from biological (bacterial) means;
- electrical equipment;
- communications, observation and orientation;
- property, spare parts, tools and accessories.

The tugboat BMK-460 is part of the PPS-84 pontoon fleet.
