Geography

It is located 5 km north of Dobruni , 7 km from the southwestern outskirts of Bryansk .

2 km west of the village is the international airport of Bryansk ; through the village passes the highway leading to the airport, and it is the village of Oktyabrskoe that is indicated as the address of the airport.

History

It was first mentioned in 1595 as the patrimony of the Svensky monastery , which remained under its jurisdiction until 1764; was part of the Undercity camp of the Bryansk district . Parish Church of the Intercession is mentioned from 1700 (not preserved).

In the XVIII — XIX centuries. - one of the largest villages in the Bryansk district . In the middle of the XIX century it was part of the economic Suponevsky volost; from 1861 to 1924 in the Eliseevsky volost (from 1921 - as part of the Bezhitsky ) county. In 1891, a literacy school was opened, and in 1899 a zemstvo school .

In the years 1924-1929. in Bezhitsky volost ; since 1929 in the Bryansk region. In the years 1932-1965. - The central estate of the collective farm "Dawn of Communism". Until 1954 - the center of the Korostovsky Village Council, in 1959-1970 in the Tolmachevsky Village Council (temporarily also was its center).

In 1961, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, the village of Korostovka was renamed Oktyabrskoe [2] .
