Content
History
On December 17, 1960, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Ad Domimici Gregis , which established the Diocese of Weyras, isolating it from the Diocese of Piwai (today the Archdiocese of Teresina ). On the same day, the diocese of Weyras entered the metropolis of Belem do Par .
On August 9, 1952, the diocese of Wayras entered the metropolis of Teresina.
On October 28, 1974, the Diocese of Weyras transferred part of its territory in favor of building a new Diocese of Pikus .
On December 8, 1977, the diocese of Weyras was renamed the diocese of Weyras-Florian.
On February 27, 2008, the Diocese of Weyras-Florian was divided into two Dioceses of Weyras and Florian .
