History
Factory Establishment
The factory was founded in the first year of World War II on the basis of a shoe factory that arrived to evacuate from the city of Osipenko (now Berdyansk). In August 1941, almost the entire team was mobilized to dig trenches.
The director of the factory at that time was the communist Evdokia Kuzminichna Makhova, and the chief engineer was Semyon Abramovich Krivoruk. The Germans approached the city, and the city party committee ordered that everything be loaded from the factory into the wagons for evacuation. By the indicated deadline, 35 wagons, two of which were intended for transporting people, stood at the railway station and were sent to Magnitogorsk on September 26, 1941. In early October 1941, the occupation of Berdyansk by German troops began. The director of the Magnitogorsk shoe factory was appointed Simon Abramovich Krivoruk, on the basis of the order of the Chelyabinsk regional department of light industry on November 11, 1941.
In order to quickly place and put into operation a shoe factory in accordance with the order of December 29, 1941, the head of the light industry Baranov approved the submitted project for the placement of technological equipment. The factory was commissioned on February 11, 1942 and in the first year of its existence produced the first 107 210 pairs of shoes.
In 1943, production increased more than three times, compared with the previous year. The number of employees decreased by 50 people, while last year it amounted to 404 people. The annual plan for gross output was implemented at 79.8%. The factory in 1944 proceeded under difficult conditions. It was supplied with raw materials and materials no more than half of the amount of allocated funds and no more than a third of the planned demand. Limited work and fuzzy work of equipment due to lack of spare parts and staff of metalworking professions. All this caused a failure to fulfill the production program. There was a low grade of products due to low-quality raw materials and frequent equipment breakdowns. Nevertheless, by the end of the year, having received a sufficient amount of raw materials, the factory completed the fourth quarter plan by 104.5%, and the December plan by 185.8%. In the first quarter of 1945, construction began on a mechanized and conveyorized workshop No. 1 for the production of men's work shoes with a capacity of 800 pairs per shift.
Post-war time
After the war, the factory lost the most qualified part of its team: many people returned to where they were evacuated from during the war. In early 1946, S. A. Krivoruk dismissed the post of director. Subsequently, the change of leadership continued until 1950. After which the team was headed by a highly qualified specialist U. G. Fleishman. In 1956, the factory first reached the millionth line of production, releasing 1 million 70 thousand. 390 pairs of shoes. In 1959, the Magnitogorsk shoe factory became the largest enterprise in its industry in the Southern Urals. She produced 75% of all shoes made in the Chelyabinsk region.
1980s
During the 80s, the team, developing the capacity of 7.5 million pairs of shoes per year, began to switch to specializing in the production of children's assortment. There was an acute shortage of children's shoes in the country. By that time, the company's products were distributed in 200 cities of the country and abroad - in Cuba , Mongolia , Syria , Ethiopia , Morocco , Afghanistan . Since April 1, 1984, the factory withdrew from the Chelyabinsk shoe industrial association and becomes a legally independent enterprise. Since January 1, 1987, the factory switched to full cost accounting, self-financing and self-sufficiency, and from November 1, the collective became known as the Magnitogorsk Industrial and Commercial Shoe Association. This year production capacities were maximally mastered, the volume for the year amounted to more than 7.5 million pairs of shoes.
Recent History
In the early 1990s, due to a systemic crisis in the domestic economy, the enterprise experienced a collapse in production and an outflow of personnel began. The company almost stopped. In 1997, by the decision of the Supervisory Board, Vladimir Viktorovich Voloshok was appointed Director General of OJSC Magnitogorsk Shoe Factory. In 2009, according to Forbes, the company employed 600 people.
Today, the company specializes in the production and sale of shoes for children, adolescents and adults. Own retail network is represented in Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Magnitogorsk, Miass, Novy Urengoy, Surgut, Yugorsk, Krasnoturinsk. In 2016, a branch of the factory, Bogatyr Factory, was opened in the village of Agapovka, Chelyabinsk Region. [2] [3] . In 2017, the company purchased an automated cutting complex [4] ATOM.
