Devanganj ( Beng. দেওয়ানগঞ্জ , Eng. Dewanganj ) is a sub-district in northern Bangladesh in the Jamalpur district. It was founded in 1874 . The administrative center is the city of Devanganj . The area of the sub-district is 266.59 km². According to the 1991 census, the population of the subdistrict was 193,182 people. The population density was 725 people. on 1 km². The literacy rate of the population was 20.8%. Religious composition: Muslims - 97.82%, Hindus - 2.01%, Christians - 0.03%, others - 0.14%.
