Career

Dimash was born in Johannesburg, in a family of Portuguese immigrants. At the age of 17, he left to study in his historical homeland in the city of Coimbra and immediately made his debut in the university football team " Academician " [1] . In 1987, Dimash Teixeira made his debut for the main team of “Academician” in the second division of the championship of Portugal. After playing for the students for three seasons, Teixeira moved to Estrela (Amadora) .

For the “ three-color ” Dimash Teixeira made his debut in the match for the Portuguese Super Cup against Porto . But “Estrela” lost to the “dragons” in the sum of two meetings with a score of 4: 2. Teixeira also managed to make his debut in the matches of the Cup Winners' Cup , where the “ tricolors ” reached the second round of the tournament. For two years of performances, Teixeira played 32 matches in the Portuguese championship and scored 2 goals. In 1994, Dimash moved to Vitoria (Guimaraes) , and in 1996 to the Lisbon Benfica .

In November 1996, Dimash Teixeira signed a three-year contract worth $ 1 million with Juventus and made its debut in Serie A [1] . “Old Signora” played in the Champions League, but Teixeira could not play in European competitions, as he had already played in them for “Benfica”. The debut in the Champions League took place on September 17, 1997 in a home match against Feyenoord , where Dimash spent 90 minutes on the field, and Juventus won 5-1 [2] . Teixeira spent four more matches in the group stage of the Champions League, participated in both quarterfinal matches against Dynamo Kyiv , replacing the 63rd [3] and 7th [4] minutes. He also played in the return semifinal match against Monaco . In the final match against Real Madrid , Dimash did not take part, remaining on the bench, and the “old signora” lost 1-0. During his performance at Juventus, Dimash twice became the champion of Italy in 1997 and 1998, once the owner of the Italian Super Cup in 1997.

In October 1998, Dimash moved to Fenerbahçe , and a year later went to the winter transfer window to Belgium to play for Standard . In the summer of 2000, after the European Championship ended, Dimash returned to Portugal and began to play for Sporting (Lisbon) . But unable to withstand competition for a place with Roy Jorge Dimasche, Marseille went on lease in 2002. At the age of 33, Dimash decided to end his career as a player.

Since 2009, Dimash Teixeira has been constantly participating in the international football tournament among veterans - the Legends Cup in Moscow.
