Biography
The second son of William Orsby-Gore, 4th Baron Harleck , great-great-grandson of British Prime Minister Robert Gascoigne-Cecil , 3rd Marquis of Salisbury (1895-1902). Member of the Conservative Party of Great Britain. He was a member of the Privy Council of Great Britain .
He studied at St. Cyprian's School, Eton College, and Oxford University .
In 1939 he entered the service of the Royal Artillery Regiment , and ended the war with the rank of major .
In the 1950 elections, he was elected to the British Parliament, of which he was a member until 1961.
William David Ormsby-Gore was the first president (1954) and for a long time a member of the Anglo-Belarusian Society. He helped organize the speech of the President of the BNR Rada Nikolai Abramchik in the British Parliament in 1956.
In 1956-1957 he served as the Parliamentary Deputy Foreign Secretary of Great Britain.
In 1957-1961, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Great Britain .
In 1961-1965, the British ambassador to the United States. He was a friend of the Kennedy family [3] and personally John F. Kennedy [4] since the work of his father’s last ambassador to London. “He was practically part of the administration” (Kennedy), - Robert Kennedy later remembered about him [3] . According to some reports, played a role in the Caribbean crisis .
In 1965-1985, the president of the British Board of Film Classification .
Died in a car accident at the age of 66.

Family
He was married to Sylvia Thomas since 1940, had five children. After the death of his first wife in 1967, since 1969 he was married to Pamela Colin, with whom he had a daughter.
The godfather of his eldest child was the sister of John Kennedy Kathleen [3] .
Eric Clapton had an affair with one of his daughters, Alice, they were even engaged, in 1995 she died from an overdose of heroin [5] .
Another daughter, Jane, had been dating Mick Jagger for a long time (in the 1960s). It is believed that the Rolling Stones song “Lady Jane” is dedicated directly to her.
