Biography
Albert Frederick Hendrik Beyning was born on August 25, 1901 in Groningen . He was a burgomaster and a botanist, chaired the Dutch and Belgian community of cacti and succulents for a long time and was the editor-in-chief of the journal of the community Succulenta [2] . Albert Beyning specialized in seed plants [1] . He collected cacti plants in Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru and Argentina in the 1960s and 1970s, investigated the genus Uebelmannia , published more than 130 descriptions of the species. Beyning was one of the founders of the International Society of Succulents [2] . Albert Beyning wrote a monograph on discocactus [3] , but he died on May 9, 1976, before its publication.
