The Virgin Round-toed Gecko [1] ( Sphaerodactylus parthenopion ) is a lizard from the gecko family (Gekkonidae). One of the smallest reptiles in the world, adult individuals reach only 16-18 mm in length.

DistributionThe round-toothed Virginia gecko lives on the British Virgin Islands : Tortola , Virgin Gorda and Mosquito . Its range coincides with the range of another dwarf Virgin Islands gecko - S. macrolepis .
HabitatThe Virginian round-toed gecko lives on the dry slopes of the hills, preferring to hide in the relatively moist crevices between the stones.

The Virgin Round-toed Gecko is one of the smallest amniots. The average gecko length is only 18 mm, the maximum body weight is 0.15 g, the minimum is 0.043 g, the average is 0.117 g. Only the related dwarf gecko S. ariasae has smaller dimensions: 16 mm in length and with a maximum weight of 0.14 g.
