Geography
The village of Volynshchino is located in the center of the Bekovsky district. The distance to the regional center of the village. Bekovo - 9 km, the distance to the regional center of Penza - 145 km. The Berezovka River, a tributary of the Khopra, flows through the village.
History
According to the research of local historian Poluboyarov M.S. , the village was founded around 1710 by Lieutenant Vasily Ivanovich Volynsky on the Ruzanovka River (now Berezovka). In 1747, the village of Vyazovka of the Zavalny camp of the Penza district of Prince Alexander Alexandrovich Cherkassky. In 1780 - in the Serdobsky district of the Saratov province . In 1795, the village of Valynshchina belonged to the bailiff Agrafena Ivanovna Sazonova, 23 yards, and a shower - 124 [2] . In 1859 - the owner's village of Vollynshchina, at the Khopre River , 32 yards; number of inhabitants: total - 240 souls, of which 121 males, 119 females [3] . In 1911, the village of Volynshchino, Khovanskaya volost, Serdobsky district, Saratov province, in the village - literacy school, 72 yards; number of souls: total - 474, of which male - 239, female - 235; the area of peasant sowing - 276 acres, of which on allotment land - 223 tithes, on leased land - 53; there were 15 iron plows, 6 winders [4] . In 1923 - in the Bekovsky volost of Serdobsky district, in 1928 - the center of the Volynshchinsky village council of the Bekovsky district of the Balashovsky district of the Lower Volga region ( on July 30, 1930 the Balashovsky district was abolished, the district entered the Lower Volga region) [5] . Since 1939, the village entered the newly formed Penza region. In 1955 - as part of the Khovanshchinsky village council of the Bekovsky district of the Penza region [6] . In 1968 - the center of the Volynshchinsky village council of the Bekovsky district of the Penza region [7] .
Population
As of January 1, 2004 - 235 households, 532 residents [8] ; in 2007 - 496 inhabitants [9] . As of January 1, 2011, the population of the village is 457 people [10] .
