Geography

The village is located in the south-east of the Bekovsky district, 3 km from the administrative center of the village council - the village of Volynshchino . The distance to the regional center of Bekovo is 4 km, to the regional center of Penza - 150 km.

History

The village was founded in the 60s of the XX century as a socio-industrial structure of the fruit farm “Bekovo” [3] . In 1968 - in the Volynshchinsky village council of the Bekovsky district of the Penza region [4] .

In 2004 - 231 households, 555 residents [3] ; in 2007 - 532 residents [6] . As of January 1, 2011, the population of the village was 498 people [7] .

Economics

In the village there are agricultural enterprises:

  • LLC A / F "Plodprom-Bekovo", engaged in the cultivation of fruit trees, crops.
  • The Bekovsky branch of the Scientific and Production Enterprise “Sady Pridonya” OJSC ( Volgograd ) is the cultivation of fruit and berry crops used in the production of baby food and drinks.

Infrastructure

In the village there is a house of culture, a library, a stadium, a feldsher-midwife station [8] , a shop, a post office [9] .

The village of Plodosovkhoz is gasified, there is a centralized water supply. The distance to the regional road with asphalt pavement in the Penza – Bekovo direction is 700 m [7] .
