Located in the Sita River Valley in the vicinity of the villages of Blagodatnoye and Knyaze-Volkonskoye . The name of the reservoir is obliged to a nearby village.
In the Sita River Valley, gravel was mined with a dredger in the 1980s and 1990s . After the completion of mining, a large lake of artificial origin - a pond - formed on this place. [one]
The lake is a place of summer and winter recreation for local residents and Khabarovsk residents. The northern part of the lake is shallow, there is a beach with a recreation area, summer cafes. Fans of water-motor sports ( jet skis ) have chosen the southern, deep-water part of the lake. The northwestern part of the lake, which has no roads and is overgrown with shrubs, attracts the attention of amateur anglers.
In winter, on the ice of the lake, the Khabarovsk Territory championship in track auto and motorcycle racing is held. [2]
Blagodatnoe Lake is connected by a channel to the Sita River, the water level in the lake depends on the water level in the river. The Obor River flows to the north of the lake, flowing into Sita near the village of Knyaze-Volkonskoye .
In the middle of the lake there is an island of artificial origin with a small grove (left untouched by the extraction of gravel).
From the village of Blagodatnoye to the bus station of Khabarovsk there is a bus of direct route No. 118.
Currently, in the vicinity of the villages of Blagodatnoye and Knyaze-Volkonskoye , intensive extraction of gravel continues by hydromechanical means , a suction pump works. In a few years, the formation of several artificial reservoirs is possible in the Sita River Valley , not inferior in size to Blagodatnoe Lake (Blagodatnoye-2, Blagodatnoye-3 and Blagodatnoye-4).
