Da BOMB Formation History
The activities of the future Da BOMB participants began in 1992-1993. These were the ADA, Max Mix Production and Da Lost Boyz groups.

In 1991, three friends - MC Mix (Alexey Vorotyagin), Tape-D and DJ Escape - got the idea of the ADA project. The notorious NWA had a special influence on the formation of the “gangster style” of the group. Young rappers started with “home” recordings (one of the first such songs is “Killing Night”), having only a tape recorder and one microphone . Then the guys began to attend the first studio sound recordings in the center of Moscow, where they recorded new compositions in a higher quality sound.
So in 1993 ADA released an album called “G-Style”, designed in the style of gangsta rap , an attempt to emulate the American “gangster” style, with reference to street fights, criminal fights and gangster stories.
In 1994, Tape-D and DJ Scratch joined the army . Mix left alone.

During the formation of the “ADA” (1991–1993), Mix met Maxim Kovalev (“Mad Max”) , with whom he closely communicated. Max really liked the work of ADA, and it turned out that Mad Max was also engaged in rap.
At the time of the collapse of the group “ADA” Mix recorded their first solo album. Max helped Mix create this album by recording several joint tracks with him. The album was released in 1994 and was called "Cruelty or not."
In the same year, the guys decided to record a joint album. The new project was called “Max Mix Production”, and the first song of this project was called “Max Mix” and is one of the first and brightest “representatives” in Russian rap. The music for this track was one of the unreleased DJ Scratch bits, which the guys use later for their new compositions.
The essence of the Max Mix Production project was this: to translate the texts of American gangsta rap artists, however, according to Mix and Max, it was not a literal translation of American rappers, but an imitation of the style itself, an attempt to “adapt” this culture in Russia.
As a result, the album was released in 1994 under the name “Alien Territory”, which included 5 tracks and 2 remixes. Among them, the most famous was a track called “Alien Territory”, a fragment of which was included in the Bad Balance album “Pure PRO”. Lyrics simply abounded mat.
At the end of 1996, the DFID, having a blank check at the studio “Meaning of Life”, begins work on two new songs “I Don't Believe” and “Your House Is A Coffin”. By the anniversary of the departure from the life of Alexei MC Mix Vorotyagin, Max Mix Production's album “Life in…” is released, tracks recorded from 2009 to 2014. The album is dedicated to the memory of Alexei and the 20th anniversary of the group.

In the spring of 1994, MC Mix and Mad Max met Anton “Mr. Shotgun »Ivanov , then known in underground circles as a rapper, and help him get to a professional studio.
Later Shotgun introduces the guys to the group “Da Lost Boyz”, which included Shotgun, Morphine and Shel (Gangsta Shel). In this lineup, the group Da Lost Boyz is recording the album “Truth is not for everyone.”
In 1995, Da Lost Boyz updated the line-up: Shel leaves the group, but comes Dr. N-Drey (Andrei Bespalov) . In the same year, Da Lost Boyz (Dr. N-Drey, Mr. Shotgun and Morphine) release an album entitled “The Neighborhood Guys”
In the fall of 1995, “Da Lost Boyz” with the help of Tape-D (he had already returned from the army by that time) recorded the composition “The Law of the Street” with which the guys come to popularity. After a large number of joint performances at various Moscow venues, the musicians go into the shadows. At the same time, work began on the solo composition Mr. Shotgun'a - "Jackals."
At the end of 1996, the DA LOST BOYZ team again suffers significant changes - Morphine leaves the group, and Dmitry “Dime” Nechaev joins the team , with whom N-Drey and Shotgun were already familiar: Dime met Shotgun back in 1995 year and even tried to work in the project DLB, and with Dr. Dmitry N-Drey was still at school. The work on the new single “One More Day” begins, the premiere of which took place at ArtFM in the program “Hip-Hop Master”.
During the existence of Da Lost Boyz, they released 4 of their own albums: “The Truth Is Not for Everyone” (1994), “This is Not Violence” (1995), “The Neighborhood Kids” (1995) and “Black Music in White Quarters” (1996).
A member of the group since its inception and the first records, Sergey “Coolman” Galiyev, died in May 2011.
Da BOMB
Creation (1995–1998)
The first summer months were marked by the recording of a new DLB song “Pulp Fiction” and the release of Max Mix Production and Mr. tracks. Shotgun'a. During this period, joint compositions begin, and the idea of the project “Da BOMB” is born, which included “Da Lost Boyz” (Dime, Mr. Shotgun, N-Drey), “Max Mix Production” (MC Mix, Mad Max), “ ADA ”(Tape-D, Mix MC, DJ Escape).
The musicians start working at the studio “2C” with the sound engineer Victor “Mutant” Shevtsov, famous for his work with Dolphin and the group “ Oak Gaay’ ”. The solo thing of Doctor Andrew “Death breathes in your back” is recorded, the composition Da Lost Boyz “They Weren't Found”, produced by Master Spensor, a remix of the Max Mix Production debut song “Max Mix”, as well as the overall composition “In my pocket BOMB” which became the title song of the project.
In 1997, the long-awaited debut album “Da BOMB” was released, which was introduced as “Da Lost Boyz & Max Mix Production”. The album was released with the support of Master Spencer on the label Elias Records .
After the release of the album Da BOMB received some fame and a positive reaction from the audience. But during this period, Da BOMB practically does not exist: in 1998, Dime and Dr. N-Drey create a joint project " Nonamerz ", which was an "alternative" to Da Lost Boyz, because Dime had differences with his former companion in the group - Mr. Shotgun'om. The original concept of the group is to unite the Moscow rappers in one project, recording tracks with a large number of invited performers. In the first years of the project’s existence, the concept is maintained - tracks are recorded with the participation of Master Spensor, Business (“Life Tree”), Sound (“Life Tree”), Huck (at that time - Comrade Bear), participants of the Da BOMB project, and a little later - with a group of Yu.G.
In the same 1998 MC Mix is doing a solo project, several Mix compositions were included in the compilations of Rap Recordz , a label founded by the Nonamerz group. But in the same year, Mix goes to prison : for drug trafficking [1], law enforcement agencies institute a criminal case against him, and Mix sits for 7 years.
Revival (2001–2002)
In 2000, after a long silence, Da BOMB resumes; re-released album in 1997 and work is underway on the second album.
Due to the absence of MC Mix, which by then was in prison, the Da BOMB project consisted of four: they were Dime, Dr N-Drey, Mr. Shotgun and Mad Max . The team heads Dime, taking on the production of the album on his Rap Recordz label. The musical direction of the group has noticeably changed: if in 1997 it was a gangsta rap close to hardcore, the second album contained more lyrics and philosophy, which undoubtedly increased the popularity of the project.
The album’s beatmakers are Dr. N-Drey, as well as K.I.T. from the group “ Yu.G. ". Also the participants Yu. G.A. (S.O. Mak, K.I.T. and MF) took part in the joint compositions of the album. The album was named "Volume 2. Revival".
February 22, 2002 a big concert of the groups “ Yu.G. "," Nonamerz "and" Da BOMB "-" This is just the beginning "and collects a full house. The concert is the first in the history of the Russian rap Live, released some time later on cassettes, CDs and VHS-cassettes. DJ at the concert performed then not yet known DJ Dlee .
“ What was ... ” (2002–2004)
After a joint concert in the club "Tochka" there is a lull. All this is explained by the fact that many participants started their own projects, finally “abandoning” Da BOMB
DJ Escape took up a solo DJ career. MC Mix is in prison until 2005.
The members of Nonamerz, who for some time were the frontmen and producers of the project, said they were leaving the team, also reporting that Da BOMB had broken up. Dime also said in an interview that the album “Volume 2. Revival” and the resumption of the project “Da BOMB” was a big mistake for him. [2]
Only Mr. Shotgun and Mad Max, who recorded the song “Everything goes according to plan” in 2002, which was the hidden disc on Nonamerz and, in particular, on Dyme. In response, Dime wrote a track titled "No Problem."
In 2004, a new release was released on Respect Production - the third Da BOMB album entitled “What was ...”. The album received sharp praise from critics and “rap gourmands”, but didn’t gain popularity among listeners (including fans of Da BOMB). The genre of the album is “post-crisis reflections”, filled with depressive lyrics about human everydayness. The album was recorded by the “remaining” members of Da BOMB - Mad Max, Mr. Shotgun and DJ Escape (as beatmaker). Shotgun becomes the author of almost all lyrics.
After the release of the album, the group again began to arrange concerts in the same composition, but rarely enough. Were seen at concerts and corporate events, in particular, in Dnepropetrovsk in 2007 and in the Red Hall club together with the Smoke Curtain group (March 11, 2006). [3]
“The first sign of popularity, I think, is that the guys at the VDNKh and I were fed with shashlyk. We stood, drank beer, and a number of unfamiliar boys read our texts. One was wrong, we corrected. So they treated us. ”
In April 2005, MC Mix was released from prison.
In the same year there were rumors about the fourth album dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Da BOMB, where, in addition to Shotgun and Max, Mix will also take part. The release of the release was scheduled for 2006, but was never released. [four]
After "What Was ..." (2005–2012)
In the same period, Dime and the members of Da BOMB reconciled by recording several new joint compositions, which would later be included in the 2010 Match Day's Dime album.
And in 2009, the album “After What That Was ...” was released, was released as an online release released by Max. [five]
MC Mix, released from prison, returned to Da BOMB. Now there were four of them. In this line-up ( Shotgun, MC Mix, Dj Escapo ), Da BOMB band appeared on the radio program “Hip-Hop TV” on Next FM on January 27, 2010. In 2011, the group showed remarkable activity - Max's album “My Home” was released, Mix MC took part in releases of Rostov hardcore artist Rem Diggy (on his solo album “ Depth ” and on the album with Black Market on the track “Salut”). In August 2011, a single from Max Mix Production - “Hardcore” was released. In March 2012, Da BOMB internet maxi-single “10 years, real hip-hop” appeared on the network. In November 2012, the MC Mix album “Beginning of the End.” Was finally released on CD. Timeline ”recorded in the period 1997-1999. This was the end of the glorious history of the 1995–2012 group Da BOMB. Max & MC Mix continued to work on the Max Mix Production album, which was supposed to be released in the fall of 2013, but tragic circumstances interrupted work on the album on June 27, 2013, Alexey (MC Mix) Vorotjagin died. The album Max Mix Production "Life in ..." was released on CD at the end of June 2014.
On August 14, 2016, Mr. Shotgun (Anton Ivanov). In October, the rapper should have turned 38 years old, the causes of death have not yet been named.
