On February 17, 2014, by the decree of the French government, in the framework of administrative reform, the canton of Bajol-Nor-Est was abolished, and the communes included in it were included in the newly formed canton of Bajol [1] .

Policy
In the 2012 presidential election, residents of the canton gave 28.2% of the vote in the 1st round, against 25.3% of Francois Hollande and 21.9% of Marin Le Pen , in the 2nd round, Sarkozy won, receiving 52.6% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 29.0%, Segolen Royal - 23.2%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 51.8%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 15th constituency of the Nor Department, they supported Socialist candidate Jean-Pierre Alloceri , who won 36.9% of the vote in the 1st round and 52.7% in the 2nd round. (2007 Francoise Ostalier (Radical Party): 1st round - 37.8%, 2nd round - 54.7%). In the regional elections of 2010 in the 1st round, the list of socialists won, collecting 28.3% of the vote against 23.6% of the list of “right-wingers” that took second place, led by the SND .
