Mosile ( Musile or Moselle ) is an Armenian noble family in Byzantium. The Greek patronymic name of the genus comes from the Armenian name Mushel ( Musheg ). In the VIII – X centuries, a number of prominent commanders and naval commanders came out of the Mosile family. In the X century, Vasily II in one of his short stories noted that in his time the Mosile dynasty was very impoverished [1] . They were related to another Armenian family of Krinites [2] .
