Pirgachha ( Beng. পীরগাছা , English Pirgachha ) - a city in the north of Bangladesh , the administrative center of the eponymous district . The area of the city is 14.29 km². According to the 2001 census, 19,864 people lived in the city, of which 51.38% were men, 48.62% respectively women. The population density was 1390 people. on 1 km². The literacy rate of the population was 28.8% (with an average of Bangladesh of 43.1%).
