History
Painted in 1982, the painting became one of the pinnacles of E. Antipova’s work. The main feature of her picturesque talent, which, according to the apt remark of L. V. Mochalov, is the “refined culture of contemplation” [2] , manifested itself in the painting “Noon” in full force. And its meaning is that it is turned not only “outside”, but also “inside”, into the depths of the author’s and audience’s “I”. In the picture “Noon”, the external motive becomes a messenger of the internal state of the soul. The hidden pathos of “Noon” and a number of subsequent works (Sunny Day, 1982, Garden Corner, 1986, Landscape with a White Gate, 1996), developing this line of her work, in the return of man to their original sources. > [ need attribution of opinion ] . The image created in the picture, according to L. Mochalov, can be considered as a model of the world, which the artist perceives as an invaluable gift, like our very existence, inseparable from this world. And even as a “model of paradise”, since art becomes the artist’s self-expression, and paradise - though not invented - is in ourselves. In our soul. In the ability to look at the surroundings with nothing obscured, childishly pure gaze [3] .
Working for many years with her husband, a talented artist Viktor Teterin , E. Antipova was able not only to preserve the individual originality of creativity, but also to embody in it her original vision of the beauty of the world.
The painting “Noon” was first shown in 1988 at a joint exhibition with V. Teterin in the halls of the Leningrad Union of Artists . In 1989, the work was exhibited in Leningrad at the exhibition of 26 Leningrad and Moscow artists [4] . In 1999, the work was exhibited in St. Petersburg at a joint exhibition of the works of E. Antipova and V. Teterin in the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" . The painting was described and reproduced in the exhibition catalog [5] .
