History
Starovokzalnaya street appeared in the last quarter of the XIX century under the name Stepanovskaya . The current name is from 1939 (with the exception of the Nazi occupation of the city in 1941-1943, when the street had the old name Stepanovskaya), in honor of the former temporary Kiev railway station (1913-1932) [1] , which the street led to. The final part of Starovokzalnaya Street was reconstructed twice - in the 1st third of the 20th century (as a result, the Customs Street , which ran perpendicular to Starovokzalnaya Street, disappeared along the Lybid River; the name was from the city customs located on it), and in the late 1980s, when a tram line was laid along the street, at the end of it a square was constructed, to which Pestel street was also connected (up to that time it ran to a dead end).
