Club career
Lozano made his debut at the UNAM Pumas club in 1998, in which he played before moving to Selaya in 2001. In 2002, the player returned to the UNAM Pumas team, with whom in 2004 he won Klausura, Apertura and the Santiago Bernabéu Cup . Lozano played at the 2005 Confederations Cup in Mexico. Before the 2005 Aperture, it was signed by WANL Tigres , becoming the most expensive acquisition in the Mexican market through the summer transfer window. However, in 2007, Lozano was removed from the first team, so he trained with the reserve team of the club. This, according to the leadership of the team, was associated with a poor game of a football player in Aperture 2007 . In addition, it is possible that this was a disciplinary measure for high-profile statements by a player after losing a team in a away match against Puebla . Lozano disagreed with the decision of the leadership and said that he would try to negotiate the withdrawal from the club immediately after the tournament. On December 18, 2007, it was confirmed that Jaime Lozano transferred to Cruz Asul .
Although he received several offers, especially from Haguarez Chiapas , Lozano always gave priority to Cruz Asul, as he wanted to return to the capital, where most of his friends and his family live. In 2010, the footballer was leased to Monarcas Morelia , where he played for two seasons and even scored a UNAM Pumas goal in the 2011 Klausura final, although his team lost 3–2 in the sum of two matches. Before the start of Aperture 2012, he signed a contract with his former UNAM Pumas team, led by Joaquina del Olmo . After the dismissal of this coach, Lozano ceased to be considered as a player in the starting lineup.
In June 2013, he was invited to the Alebriches de Oaxaca , but refused due to financial and family problems, and, having received no other offers, finally decided to end his career.
Team Career
Lozano has been called up to the Mexican national team many times; he was one of the team’s most important players in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup , scoring 11 goals in 11 games. However, a number of injuries prevented him from playing for the national team in matches prior to the World Cup. Lozano was included in the preliminary list of 26 players from which Ricardo Lavolpe was to make a final list of 23 players, in the hope that his condition would improve by the beginning of the tournament. However, this did not happen and he did not make the final list. He also played three matches for Mexico at the 2005 Confederations Cup [1] .
Lozano was one of the players selected by Hugo Sanchez to participate in the 2007 America's Cup . He first appeared in the tournament, replacing Mexico in a victory match with Brazil (2-0).
