Mujibnagar

Mujibnagar ( Beng. মুজিবনগর , English. Mujibnagar ), former name - Baidyanathtala - a city in the west of Bangladesh , the administrative center of the eponymous sub-district . The city got its name in honor of the first president and prime minister of Bangladesh Mujibur Rahman . On April 17, 1971, the declaration of independence of Bangladesh was first read in Mujibnagar. Here, the first provisional government of Bangladesh took the oath.
