Mirpur ( Beng. মিরপুর , Eng. Mirpur ) - a city in the west of Bangladesh , the administrative center of the same sub-district . The area of the city is 6.81 km². According to the 2001 census, 19,076 people lived in the city, of which men accounted for 52.27%, women - respectively 47.73%. The population density was 2801 people. on 1 km ². The literacy rate of the population was 36.7% (with an average of 43.1% in Bangladesh).
