Koyra ( Beng. কয়রা , English Koyra ) is a city in the south-west of Bangladesh , the administrative center of the homonymous sub-district ( Koyra Upazila ). The area of the city is 10.06 km². According to the 2001 census, 8,636 people lived in the city, of which 47.95% were men and 52.05% were women, respectively. The population density was 861 people. on 1 km². The literacy rate was 31.3% (compared to Bangladeshan average of 43.1%).
