Lizardman ( English lizard + man ) - an allegedly existing humanoid creature - cryptids with skin resembling reptile skin, which was observed in North America . The creature reportedly had growth ranging from 0.5 to 2 meters or more. It was reported that it appeared from the water and attacked cars. In some cases of observation of the chupacabra, the descriptions of the witnesses correlate with the descriptions of the human lizard.

Cases
On November 8, 1958, Charles Wetzel ( Wetzel ) drove in a car past the Santa Ana River near Riverside , California . Suddenly, a two-meter humanoid creature appeared in front of the car with luminous eyes and a beak-like mouth. The creature was covered with leaf-like scales. Wetzel braked, and then it yelled with a yell at the car. Wetzel started off and knocked the creature onto his back. Traces of his claws on the windshield.
On August 19, 1972, Robin Fluellin and Gordon Pike from British Columbia ( Canada ) were chased by a strange humanoid of 1.5 meters tall, emerging from Lake Tethys . The creature was covered with scaly skin, with 6 spikes on its head.
On June 29, 1988, at about 2 o’clock in the morning, 17-year-old Christopher Davis changed the wheel in his car near the Scape Or swamp, near Bishopville ( Lee County , South Carolina ). When he put the jack back in the trunk, he noticed how something similar to a man, more than 2 meters high with his eyes glowing red in the dark, was running towards him. Davis climbed into the car and tried to close the door, but the creature held it from the other side and tried to open it. Davis drove onto the track and tried to disperse the car. “I saw his neck and below - three thumbs, long black nails and rough-rough green skin. It seems that the monster possessed impressive physical strength. I looked in the mirror and saw a running green spot. I saw the toes on his legs. And then he jumped onto the roof of my car. I heard a grunt. Then I saw through the windshield fingers clutching the edge of the roof . " When the car accelerated to a speed of 35 miles per hour, the creature fell off the roof.
Davis's parents and the local sheriff noted that when he arrived home, he was very scared. Long and deep scratches were noticeable on the roof of the car, the rearview mirror was wrinkled.
Examining Lizard Testimony
The few cases of encounters with a lizard man near Bishopville in the summer of 1988 (including the case of Christopher Davis) were widely covered in the press, which led to the fact that many people appeared who claimed to have already observed this creature.
Writer John Keel has collected over 20 cases of humanoid observation of reptilian skin all over the United States . Cryptozoologist Karl Shuker , considering these cases in his book The Unknown , suggests that the lizard man is a creature descended from dinosaurs during evolution .
Local police were skeptical of reports of a lizard man. On the one hand, they recognized that there are enough allegations from people who have no reason not to trust in order to conclude that they really saw some creature, on the other hand they considered it more plausible that it was a bear [1] .
Two weeks after Christopher Davis reported, the sheriff’s department made several prints of some marks measuring about 14 inches (36 cm) in length, but they decided not to send them to the FBI for further analysis after biologists said that they could not be identified [ 2] . Representative of the Department of Marine Resources of South Carolina, Johnny Evans, said that the tracks are not like the tracks of any famous animal. He also rejected the suggestion that any mutant animal might have left them. [3]
