Sakhipur ( Beng. সখিপুর , Eng. Sakhipur ) is a city in the central part of Bangladesh , the administrative center of the sub-district of the same name . The area of the city is 19.67 km². According to the 2001 census, 23,429 people lived in the city, of which 52.71% were men, 47.29% were women. The literacy rate was 30.5% (compared to Bangladeshan average of 43.1%).
