In the 2012 presidential election, the residents of the canton cast 27.3% of votes in the 1st round to Francois Hollande against 26.7% for Nicolas Sarkozy and 22.6% for Marine Le Pen , in the 2nd round, Hollande won, receiving 50.7% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 29.0%, Segolen Royal - 23.2%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 51.8%).
