Haluaghat ( Beng. হালুয়াঘাট , English Haluaghat ) is a city in the north of Bangladesh , the administrative center of the eponymous district . According to the 2001 census, 9,727 people lived in the city, of which 52.04% were men and 47.96% were women. The literacy rate was 56.5% (compared to Bangladeshan average of 43.1%).
