Geography

The village is located beyond the Arctic Circle , on the left bank of the Lena River, 419 km southwest of the village of Tiksi (the administrative center of Bulunsky ulus) [2] [3] . The nearest town, Kusyur , is 189 km [3] .

In 2010, 287 people lived in the village (in 2002 - 254 people) [4] .

History

The village was founded in 1934 [2] .

Economics and Culture

The basis of the economy is reindeer husbandry , fishing and hunting.

In the village there is a small school (introduced in 1981 ), a kindergarten (introduced in 1980 ), a house of culture (introduced in 2000 ), a feldsher-midwife station (introduced in 1960 ) [3] .
