History

The boundaries of the city of regional significance of Sovetsk and the urban district are approved by the Law of the Kaliningrad region dated November 21, 2003 No. 329 “On approval of the border of the object of the administrative territorial division“ City of regional significance Sovetsk ”and the municipality“ Soviet city district ”. On November 21, 2003, on the basis of the law of the Kaliningrad region No. 329, the municipal entity “Sovetsk City” was formed, which included the city of regional subordination Sovetsk .

On March 31, 2004, on the basis of law of the Kaliningrad region No. 376, the municipal entity “Sovetsk City” was given the status of an urban district [5] , and from January 1, 2006 it was given the status of a Soviet city district [6] .
