History
Cilipi in 1426 became part of the Dubrovnik Republic , and over time received the status of a village. During the war between 1991 - 1992 almost the whole village was burned, and the inhabitants were expelled. The village was liberated from the invaders in the fall of 1992. The war left grave consequences and harm to cultural heritage.
Population
As of 2001, 838 residents lived in Chilipi [1] .
