Pal Angeli ( Alb. Pal Engjëlli 1416 - 1470 ) - Albanian clergyman and diplomat, cardinal , archbishop of Durres [1] . He is considered a companion of Skanderbeg , whom he accompanied in diplomatic missions in search of help in the fight against the Ottoman Empire [2] .

He is the author of the earliest surviving phrase in the Albanian language Alb. "Un'te paghesont 'pr'emenit t'Atit e t'Birit e t'Spirit Senit" (I baptize you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit ). It is found in the pastoral message of the archbishop dated November 8, 1462, which is currently stored in the Library of Laurentian in Florence . It was discovered by the Romanian scientist Nicolae Jorga in 1915 [3] .
