Career
Rohas signed his first professional contract in 2006 with the Liberty Seguros team, which was renamed Astana-Wurth during the season. The main achievement of the first year for the Spaniard was the victory in the offset, uncharacteristic for the sprinter - he won the mountain classification of the spring stage race of Tirreno Adriatico .
2007, Rojas began as part of the Spanish " Caisse d'Epargne ". This year, Jose Joaquin won his first professional victory - he won the first stage of the Vuelta of Murcia , and also became the best in the sprint classification of the Tour of Poland , which he finished in ninth place.
In 2008, Rojas first climbed the podium of a multi-day cycling race - he became the third in the overall standings of the Australian Tour Down Ander and also won the white shirt of the best young racer of this race. In addition, in 2008, the Spaniard won Trofeo Pollença , and at the prestigious Wattenfal Classic race in Hamburg took fifth place.
The following year, Rojas repeated the success of the previous year - he defended his third place and the shirt of the best young racer, Tour Down Ander , and in 2010, Jose Joaquin became the best sprinter of the Four-Day Dunkirk race, which, however, did not win a single stage.
More successful for the Spaniard was the 2011 season, which his Caisse d'Epargne team began with a new name, Movistar Team . Rojas won the Trofeo Deià and one of the stages of the Vuelta of Catalonia , and at the end of June in Castellon de la Plana at the national championship he beat Alberto Contador and became the first champion of Spain. A week later, thanks to stable performances in the sprint, Rojas became the intermediate leader of the Tour de France sprint classification, which allowed him to try on a green T-shirt.
