Mikulas was the youngest son of the Raciborsz-Krnovsky prince Jan I and Anna Gloguvskaya. After the death of his father, which happened between 1380 and 1382, the young Mikulash fell under the care of the mother of Anna and the elder brother of Jan II . In 1385, he received his own property - a small plot with the city of Bruntal.
Mikulas died in about 1406, having no wife or children. After his death, Jan II returned Brunthal to the Raciborz-Krnov Principality .
