The village is located 7 km east of Kalach-on-Don and 70 km west of Volgograd . It is located on the banks of the Volga-Don Canal , which, coupled with the Belomorkanal and the Volga-Baltic waterways, made it possible to connect the five seas - the White , Black , Caspian , Azov and Baltic - by the shortest shipping route - hence the name Pyatimorsk.
History
