Dohar ( Beng. দোহার , Eng. Dohar ) is a city and municipality in the central part of Bangladesh , the administrative center of the homonymous subdistrict . The area of the city is 6.18 km². According to the 2001 census, 61,828 people lived in the city, of which 49.08% were men and 50.92% women respectively. The population density was 10,005 people. on 1 km². The literacy rate was 34.76% (compared to Bangladeshan average of 43.1%).
