Biography
He was born in the city of Karaganda into an Orthodox family sent to Kazakhstan during the repressions of the 1930s .
In 1986 he graduated from secondary school and entered the Moscow Theological Seminary . After graduation, he entered as a novice in the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersky Monastery .
On February 16, 1992, Archbishop Ulyanovsk and Melekessky Proclus was ordained deacon .
On July 5, 1992, Archbishop Eusebius of Samara and Syzran was ordained a presbyter and appointed rector of the newly built Resurrection Cathedral in Samara .
In 1992 he graduated from the Kuibyshev State Pedagogical Institute .
On June 23, 1998, with the blessing of the Archbishop of Samara and Syzran, Sergius received monastic tonsure .
By Easter 2000 he was elevated to the rank of abbot .
In 2002, he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy with a candidate of theology degree .
He led two diocesan commissions of the Samara diocese - for external relations and for the affairs of monasteries [3] .
On October 6, 2003, by the decision of the Holy Synod, the Resurrection Cathedral was transformed into the Resurrection Monastery , and Abbot Seraphim was appointed governor of the monastery [4] [5] .
In 2004, he graduated with honors from the Law Faculty of the Volga Academy of Public Administration named after P. A. Stolypin . He taught at the Samara Theological Seminary and Samara State University of Economics .
By Easter 2010 he was elevated to the rank of archimandrite .

May 21, 2011, on the day of the Council of the New Martyrs, in Butovo, the injured , Patriarch Kirill headed the rank of Archimandrite Serafim (Glushakov) in the Bishop of Resurrection in the Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia at the Butovo training ground [7] .
May 22, 2011 in the Transfiguration Cathedral of the St. Nicholas Ugreshsky Monastery was ordained bishop of Voskresensky, Vicar of the Moscow diocese. The consecration was performed by: Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Metropolitan of Krutitsky and Kolomna Yuvenaly (Poyarkov) , Archbishop of Simbirsk and Melekesskiy Prokl (Khazov) , Archbishop of Samara and Syzran Sergius (Poletkin) , Archbishop of Yrispasim ( Istrinsky ) of Riphenes and Iryazynskim Ponomarev) Archbishop Vereisky Eugene (Resetnicov) Archbishop Sergievo-Posadskiy Feognost (Guzik) , and Bishop Penza Kuznetskii Benjamin (Zaritskii) , Bishop Solnechnogorskiy Sergy (Chashin) , and Bishop Elista Kalmyk ins (Korzinkin) , Bishop Zvenigorodsky Nikolai (Chashin) [8] .
On May 30, 2011, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was appointed bishop of Anadyr and Chukotka [9] .
On July 27, 2011, by the decision of the Holy Synod, he was relieved of his duties as governor of the Resurrection Monastery in Samara [10] .
From December 12 to 23, 2011 he attended two-week continuing education courses for the newly elected bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church at the Church Graduate School and Doctoral School named after Saints Equal to the Apostles Cyril and Methodius [11] .
On December 24, 2015, the Holy Synod, discussing the state of affairs in the Anadyr and Chukotka diocese, enlisted Bishop Seraphim to rest and sent it to the disposal of Metropolitan of Samara and Syzran Sergius, having determined the city of Samara to be his place of residence [1] .
