Biography

Born December 20, 1951 in the city of Perm. Mother, Alexandra Ivanovna, - doctor, father, Lev Borisovich - candidate of biological sciences, head of the department of anatomy and physiology of TvGU.

In 1969 - 1973 he studied at Kalinin State University , where he graduated with honors in the specialty "History" with an additional specialty "English language".

In 1973 - 1977 he studied in graduate school of the Department of Philosophy of Kalinin State University.

In 1977, at the Leningrad State University, he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Philosophy on the theme "The principle of objectivity of knowledge and its role in historical research" (specialty 09.00.01 - dialectical and historical materialism) [1]

In 1980 - 1982 he studied in the doctoral studies of the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

In 1983, at the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy of Sciences, he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy “Criticism of the Neo-Tomist Concept of Spiritual Culture” (specialty 09.00.03 - history of philosophy) [2] .

In 1982, Assistant Professor, in 1982–1987 , Associate Professor, In 1988–1989 , Professor of the Department of Philosophy, from 1989 to the present, Professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy and Theory of Culture of Tver (Kalininsky) State University .

Since 1992 - Professor of East Washington University .

He interned, studied and worked in the USA, Great Britain, France, Hungary, Israel, incl. was an expert at the International Institute of Education ( Ford Foundation ).

More than 55 PhD theses have been defended under scientific supervision. Author of over 300 works, including 8 monographs. Works B.L. Gubman published in the US, UK, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Romania, Israel, India.
