Biography
Alexander Spiridon was born on July 20, 1960 in the Moldavian city of Edinet . He acted as a midfielder. He began his career as a player in 1976 playing for Nistra , but was unable to reach a high level due to injury. Here's how he describes his injury:
| “I was already a player in the youth team of the USSR - I played with Zavarov , Taran . In general, he showed serious hopes and was very highly quoted in the former USSR. But as a patriot, I decided to raise the football of my native Moldova. In 1979, we had to go to the World Cup. And in those days it was common for such a thing as matches between teams of masters and amateurs. We traveled to villages and small towns, played with the locals - this is how football was promoted. And during such a fight in the city of Falesti , two days before leaving for the national team, my leg was broken. Both bones ... It was creepy: the thumb of the ankle reached to the knee, the leg just dangled. Until now, people say that they didn’t hear such a terrible scream like mine back then. And that’s all. My career has just begun ... They immediately called the air force, sent me to Chisinau . A day later they operated on, put the Ilizarov apparatus, I went with him for 13 months. In addition, I greatly undermined my health with radiographs: they were taken 7-8 a day, moreover, no more than two can be done a year! But it was necessary, an x-ray helped doctors to tighten screws that combine bones. So for the year I got 46 x-rays. In short, I dropped out of football for a long time. And when he recovered, he was no longer the same, he lost speed. But he continued to play: he spent his last match at 38 ” [2] . |
In 1992, he received the award “ Football Player of the Year ” as the best football player in Moldova.

He played 16 matches for the Moldavian national team , scoring 2 goals [3] . March 29, 1995 after a match against Albania ended his international career [3] .
In 1992, he entered the coaching staff of Chisinau Zimbru as an assistant to Sergei Syrbu.
