The Japanese Konica C35 AF camera, manufactured since 1977 [1] [2] [3], served as a model for construction.
This family includes “ Elikon-3 ”, “ Elikon-4 ”, “ Elikon-35S ” scale cameras , which have some design differences ( lens type, exposure setting method).
On cameras "Elikon" for the first time in the USSR , a built-in flash was used .

The principle of the apparatus
- The power source of the camera is two AA elements (element 316) .
- Set the photosensitivity of the film by a ring located on the front surface of the lens barrel .
- The camera "Elikon-autofocus" - a software machine . Exponometric device with cadmium sulfide (CdS) photoresistor . Exposure compensation is possible only by changing the photosensitivity value of the film. When applying filters, corrections are automatically made for their density.
- In automatic mode, the shutter works out continuously from 1/8 sec. (with aperture 2.8) up to 1/500 sec. at ( aperture 16). You cannot change the shutter speed-aperture combination.
- When the flash extends, it automatically turns on. The lens aperture is set depending on the photosensitivity of the film and the distance to the subject (with autofocus, the lens aperture changes).
- Shutter Speed - 1/125 sec. Exposure " B " is missing.
- In the field of view of the viewfinder there are LEDs for controlling the exposure meter device and a neon flash ready lamp located next to the eyepiece .
Autofocus
The camera uses the Visitronic passive autofocus system ( English Visitronic ), based on a comparison of the light transmitted through two light detectors located on the front wall [2] .
In the center of the viewfinder's field of view there is a restrictive frame along which focusing is performed. After pressing the shutter button, autofocusing (confirmed by the LED indication) occurs, after which, without releasing the shutter button, you can crop and shoot. The distance to the focus object (as a symbol) is displayed in the viewfinder's field of view.
