Rekeh-ver (in the lane - Big Fire ) - in the ancient Egyptian calendar the name of the coldest month of the year, when heating of the dwelling of the furnace was required.
From the era of pre-Egyptian Egypt until the end of the Middle Kingdom period, the Rekhever was the seventh month of the Sotis lunar calendar and included the time from early December to early January.
Some scholars (for example, A. Gardiner , R.-E. Parker ) believe that over the millennia of ancient Egyptian history, the location of the rekhera-faith in the calendar, starting from the era of the New Kingdom , has moved to the sixth month of the year. On the Ebers calendar, in 1517 BC e. Rekechever falls on the first month of the season and dates from Nubia (on Elephantine ) from December 16 to January 14, and in Memphis from December 21 to January 19.
Rekeh-ver was the rainiest month of Ancient Egypt. In Alexandria this month, an average of 30% of annual precipitation fell.
