Reviews and ratings

The film received crushing reviews in the press [5] .

Elena Chekulaeva, Petersburg Viewer:

Just say, we are not inclined to consider "Rzhevsky ..." complete nonsense. Although it is clear that the authors are trying very hard not to give the audience a chance to show leniency. This is especially true of the beginning of the picture, overshadowed by the appearance of Marat Basharov in the image of Bagration. If Georgians should declare war on us , then for this, and not for control of South Ossetia . <...> The best gags are concentrated in the middle of the tape (for example, Bonaparte's parody of Joe Dassin delivers not weakly). But the effect of them noticeably spoils the general opinion of artists that the more they grimace, the stronger the comic effect. The director still keeps the main stars in check, but the minor ones tend to react to everything unnecessarily violently, as if they were being poked with a fork in the ass [6] .

Roman Volokhov, “Cinema News”:

In addition to the monotonous and dull gags, about 86.7% of which, in principle, are unable to make a person familiar with something more than the Comedy Club , Rzhevsky against Napoleon boasts a chaotic narrative consisting of scenes rushing from event to event. <...> "Rzhevsky against Napoleon" is an unhappy farce. It seemed to Marius Weisberg one little ludicrous nonsense about an Austrian artist of the first half of the twentieth century and he wanted additives in the form of another ludicrous delirium about a Corsican artilleryman of the beginning of the nineteenth century . And that is precisely why we are once again given a unique chance to look at the next shot (this time from Tsar Cannon) into the back of the head of the Russian comedy genre. So there are serious concerns that the caput will come to her soon [7] .

Larisa Yusupova, Izvestia :

Weisberg, as in Hitler ..., demonstrates that he is a seen young man. He knows well pop art, and contemporary art, and he studied the genre of parodies in American cinema thoroughly, and he is carefully trying to transplant it into Russian soil. One obstacle to the success of the attempt - apart from the strangeness of the tradition of cinema parodies - is one circumstance: the complete absence of dramaturgy. <...> There is a whole column of surnames in the list of “Rzhevsky” scriptwriters, but all this sonderkommand failed to achieve such a simple thing as building a boring sequence of events [8] .

Boris Grishin, “Poster Mail.Ru ”:

A dull attempt to earn money on the fact that “the viewer is a sucker, he does everything” and he can feed any hack, especially if you say that it is in 3D. <...> The question of why the film, whose special effects were made at the Gorodok show level, needs 3D, can be considered rhetorical - it is clear that when the producers started the project two years ago, this technology was in fashion and was considered effective in marketing terms. Well, actually they decided to save on the actual 3D [9] .

Yana Herz, Film.ru :

The picture is a mix of video clips, dance poppuri and the program " Masks-shows ", and the keynote are dressing and grotesque comic strips. <...> The only thing that looks funny and makes you smile is the Jean-Claude Van Damme cameo ... <...> Well, Pavel Derevyanko has already defeated Hitler, and now he has gotten even with Napoleon. It remains to be wondered who he will undertake to neutralize next time, going even further into the past - is it really Genghis Khan ? [ten]
