March 3, 1945 Goebbels wrote in his diary: [10]
| I received the sad news. My old friend and employee Eugen Hadamowski, who led his company to the attack, was killed. A bullet hit his heart, and he died immediately. In his face I lost one of my life partners, who for many years tirelessly and faithfully accompanied me. I will keep a grateful memory of him. What sacrifices only are made, what precious blood is not shed in this war!
