Sigebert of Gembloux ( Latin: Sigebertus Gemblacensis ; c. 1030 - October 5, 1112) is a medieval monk from the Benedictine Abbey of Gambloux . The author of the world chronicle , covering the period from 381 to 1111. He was distinguished by his pro-imperial views in the conflict of emperors and papacy over investiture .
