Ivan Devčić ( Horv. Ivan Devčić , January 1, 1948 , village of Krasnoe Pole, c. Senj , Yugoslavia ) is the Croatian archbishop who leads the archdiocese of Rijeka .

Born on January 1, 1948 in the village of Krasnoe Pole near Senya . After graduation, he studied theology in Rijeka , after the third semester he transferred to the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. In 1974 he graduated from the university, in 1980 at the same university received a doctorate in philosophy.
After defending his doctoral dissertation, he returned to his homeland. He was engaged in scientific and teaching activities, in particular, he was a professor of philosophy at the Higher Theological School in Rijeka. Published several works on philosophy.
On June 28, 1975, he was ordained a priest . From 1985 to 2000, Rector of the Seminary in Rijeka.
On November 17, 2000, he was appointed Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Rijeka after the death of its previous leader, Anton Tamarut. On December 16 of that year, episcopal ordination took place. The main conservator was Cardinal Josip Bozanich . In the working structures of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Croatia, she heads the Council for Catholic Schools and Higher Church Education and the Council for Work with the Media.
